My Sonnet (Sonnet 1)
So I've decided to write my sonnet
I hope it's not to lame
So on my head I place a bonnet
And hope to achieve Shakespearean fame
The words flock to my mind
Like vultures upon a fresh kill
Where they hope they are lucky to find
Flesh they can eat still
But they don't discover much at all
Another beast has already been by
The sun on the horizon begins to look small
So the vultures continue on and fly
As the desert grows dark and cold
The warmth of the sun it no longer can hold
I hope it's not to lame
So on my head I place a bonnet
And hope to achieve Shakespearean fame
The words flock to my mind
Like vultures upon a fresh kill
Where they hope they are lucky to find
Flesh they can eat still
But they don't discover much at all
Another beast has already been by
The sun on the horizon begins to look small
So the vultures continue on and fly
As the desert grows dark and cold
The warmth of the sun it no longer can hold
